First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove from exposure and keep patient at rest. Seek medical
attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Irrigate thoroughly with water for at least 15 minutes. Seek
immediate medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected areas with water. Seek medical attention if
irritation develops.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide.

Product arising from burning: Oxides of carbon, nitrogen and sulfur and soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Self contained breathing apparatus should be worn by fire
fighters.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Local spillage: Wear laboratory coat, eye protection, rubber
gloves and if spillage occurs outside a fume cupboard, a
dust respirator to P2 protection. Collect the solid
carefully and transfer into clean polyethylene liners and
place in an appropriately labelled drum. Wipe up any powder
left with a damp cloth and place in container for disposal.

Large spillage: Sweep up throughly into clean polyethylene
liners and place in an appropriately labelled drum. Flood
the area with copious quantities of water. All washings
should be collected and disposed of in accordance with
section 6.1.3. prevent washings from entering the water
supply.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance should be handled in closed containers where
possible otherwise appropriate local exhaust ventilation
should be used, or work performed in a fume cupboard.

Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Personal
protective clothing should be worn in laboratory areas such
as safety glasses, rubber gloves (14 inch PVC gauntlets),
paper suits and an air hood.

Storage: Store at ambient temperature. The substance should be stored
in original containers which should be labelled and kept

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Since the test substance is a pharmaceutical intermediate,
it is completely converted during the production process of
the final drug hence there is nothing to recover.
Contaminated material should be destroyed by incineration.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No neutralisation method is known

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance should be disposed of by incineration in a
chemical incinerator in compliance with national or regional
requirements.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not suitable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable.
