Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move subject to fresh air.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush eyes with large amount of water for at least 15

minutes. Consult a physician if irritation persists.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash affected skin areas

thoroughly with soap and water. Consult a physician if

irritation persists. Wash contaminated clothing thoroughly

before reuse. Do not take clothing home to be laundered.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: If swallowed, give 2 glasses of water to drink. See a

physician. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious

person.

If swallowed, careful evacuation of the stomach is

advisable.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Use the following extinguishing media when fighting fires

involving this material: carbon dioxide, dry chemical, water

spray.

Product arising from burning: Combustion generates toxic fumes of the following: nitrogen

oxides, hydrogen chloride.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus, pressure demand and

full protective gear.

Special Procedures: Remain upwind. Avoid breathing smoke.

Use water spray to cool containers exposed to fire. Contain

run-off

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Personal protection: appropriate protective equipment must

be worn when handling a spill of this material. See section

8, Exposure controls/Personal protection of attached Safety

Data Sheet for recommendations (Annex 4).

Remove all contaminated clothing promptly. Wash all exposed

skin areas with soap and water immediately after exposure.

Thoroughly launder clothing before reuse. Do not take

clothing home to be laundered.

Procedures:

Transfer spilled material to suitable containers for

recovery or disposal. Keep dust to a minimum. CAUTION: keep

spills and cleaning runoff out of municipal sewers and open

bodies of water.

Handling and storage

Handling: Do not handle material near food, feed or drinking water.

Avoid high concentrations of dust in air and accumulation of

dust on equipment. An airborne of this material can creat a

dust explosion. When handling and processing this material

local exhaust ventilation may be required to control dust

and reduce exposure to vapors. To prevent dust explosions

employ bonding and grounding for operations capable of

generating static electricity.

This material is a potential skin sensitizer.

Chemical-resistant gloves should be worn whenever this

material is handled.

Other:

Triple rinse (or equivalent) and puncture empty container.

Storage: Do not store this material near food, feed or drinking

water. Store in a well ventilated area. Store in a dry area.

Store out of direct sunlight in a cool place.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Steel drums kg 200.

Stability and reactivity

Chemical reaction with water: None

Dust explosion: The dust explodability of RH-70,345 technical powder has

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Treatment of solvent (n-butyl acetate) before re-using it in

the process:

The solvent (mother liquor) coming from the solid-liquid

separation is fully recycled; it is purified by distillation

and the distillation solid residue is drummed and sent to an

approved incineration facility.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Absorb the spill with spill pillows or inert solids such as

clay or vermiculite and transfer contaminated materials to

suitable containers for disposal. Deactivate spill area with

freshly prepared solution of 5% sodium bicarbonate and 5%

sodium hypochlorite in water. Apply solution to the spill

area at a ratio of 10 volumes deactivation solution per

estimated volume of residual spill to deactivate any

residual a.i. Let stand for 30 minutes. Flush the spill area

with copious amount of water to chemical sewer. Do not add

deactivation solution to the waste pail to deactivate the

adsorbed material.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: No

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Yes

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The liquid wastes are pre-treated (by oxidation with

hydrogen peroxide and then by solvent extraction) to remove

any organic product and by-product before being sent to

municipal WWT.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable. No sales to public at large.
