Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. Administer O2 if patient has difficulty
breathing. If person is not breathing give artificial
respiration. Seek medical attention immediately.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately flush with running water for at least
15-minutes. Seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and wash immediately with soap
and water. If signs of irritation develops or persists, seek
medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: If significant ingestion occurs, vomiting may be induced if
person is consciuos and not experiencing convulsions. Get
medical attention immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, dry chemical, carbon dioxide or foam as
appropriate for surrounding fire materials.

Product arising from burning: COx, SOx, NxOy

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Provide firefighters with SCBA, suitable gloves, goggles and
protection. Evacuate personnel to upwind direction, remove
unneeded materials.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: HEPA vacuum or collect material with non-sparking tools and
place into suitable container for disposal. Flush smaller
spills to process drain with plenty of water. Wear
protective equipment as required by the nature of the spill
including respiratory protection, coveralls and gloves.

Handling and storage

Handling: Engineering controls in the form of local exhaust
ventilation should be provided at the reactor. When
engineering controls are not sufficient to control dust
exposure, employees should use the appropriate personal
protective equipment, such as respiratory protection,
coveralls, low protein latex or notrile gloves or ather
impermeable gloves and safety glasses. Rubber, neoprene or
other gloves may be required if solvents, corrosives or
other chemicals are prersent. Equipment should be bonded and
earthed to control static charges when handling the powder.
Powder handling equipment such as dust collectors, dryers
and ills may require additional protection, such as
explosion venting.

Storage: Maintain low relative humidity to avoid clumping. Ensure
the containers are suitably labeled.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: UN approved fibre drums of approximately 40 kg.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None known.

Chemical reaction with water: None known.

Dust explosion: As with all dry powders, it is advisable to ground
mechanical equipment in contact with dry materials to
dissipate the potential buildup of static electricity.

Powder handling equipment such as dust collectors, dryers
and mills may require additional protective measures (i.e.
explosive venting).

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: None

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Dispose in accordance with applicable local and national
regulations.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: It is recommended for large quantities and solvent wastes.
Closed system incinerators with scrubbers should be used in
compliance with local and national legislation. Code: A663.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Trace quantities in water can be treated in secondary
biological WWTP befoare discharge to municipal treatment
works.
