Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Stop exposition by moving to fresh air.

Support breathing if respiratory arrest occurs.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water or physiological solution for at

least 15-20 minutes.

Emergency measure - Skin: Rinse with plenty of water. Remove contaminated clothes.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Induce vomiting only in case of awarness.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Every extinguishing agent is suitable.

Product arising from burning: The combustion of the substance produces toxic gases as

CO2,CO, NOx, and SOx and methyl mercaptane.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: During intervention fire officers must wear self-contained

breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: In the case of accidental scattering collect the powder

without rising powder. Personnel must wear protective

overalls, P3 type masks, gloves and goggles.

Avoid the powder to reach the waste water system.

Keep the substance in suitable containers.

For the reclamation of contaminated surface use a diluted

chloridric acid solution without any dispersion.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance should be handled in closed systems or in

workplaces provided with effective suction systems and

adequate general ventilation.

If exposure can't be avoided workers must wear disposable

dust resistant overalls, nitrile gloves, safety goggles and

masks with organic vapours filters and / or P3 type filters.

Storage: The substance must be kept closed containers away from heat

and light.

Do not store near to strongly oxidizing materials.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Use internal polyethylene bags contained in external

aluminium ones.

For large quantities use polyethylene bags contained in

kraft type drums.

Special provisions / remarks
Remarks:
Transport: The substance is not classied as dangerous according to
international dangerous goods transport codes.

There aren't particular concerns about internal transport
safety, as the hazard related to acute exposure is very low
and the substance is an inert powder.

The only applicable recommendation is the use of well closed
resistant containers.

Stability and reactivity

Dust explosion: Data about lower explosition limit in air and minimum

ignition energy of the powder are not know.

Being an organic powder the substance has to be regarded as

a potential inflammable powder.

Therefore in those cases in which the formation of a mixture

of the powder with air is a consequence of the operational

condition, it's necessary to carry out all the measures for

the prevention of ignition: control of static charging

phenomena, fire-works regulation and so on.
