Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The vapour pressure of isononyl benzoate was determined according to OECD guideline no. 104 [ adopted on 27. July 1995] and EU test method A.4 [Directive 92/69/EEC, Offical Journal L 383 A 1992] with the vapour pressure balance.
Vapour pressure at 20 °C: 2.4 x 10-4 hPa

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
0 hPa
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The vapour pressure of isononyl benzoate was determined according to OECD guideline no. 104 [ adopted on 27. July 1995] and EU test method A.4 [Directive 92/69/EEC, Offical Journal L 383 A 1992] with the vapour pressure balance.

Therefore, a sample of the test item is heated in a small furnace, placed in an evacuated bell jar. The furnace is covered by a lid which carries small holes of known diameter. The vapour of the substance escaping through one of the holes, is directed into a balance pan of a highly sensitive balance which is also enclosed in the evacuated bell jar. The momentum of the vapour jets acts as a force on the balance. The vapour pressure at 20 °C was determined as 2.4 x 10-4 hPa.
