Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In a marine water closed bottle test under GLP and according to OECD 306, DHX2 was biodegraded for 73% after 63 days. The criteria for ready biodegradability were not met.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Key value for chemical safety assessment: biodegradable (73% after 63 days) not fulfilling the criteria for readily biodegradability.

In the key study (reliable with restrictions), the biodegradation of DHX2 was studied according OECD 306 and under GLP. Biodegradability in marine water was analysed by measuring the oxygen consumption (closed bottles) revealing a biodegradation of 33% after 28 days and 73% after 63 days, although reporting details are limited. As the criteria for ready biodegradability were not met, the substance is concluded not to be readily biodegradable. The substance was concluded not to be toxic to the marine water bacteria.
