First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. Get medical attention if breathing is

difficult.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush eyes thoroughly with large amounts of water for at

least 15 minutes. Get medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash skin with soap and water. Remove severely contaminated

clothing and clean before reuse. Seek medical attention in

the unlikely event that irritation occurs.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Carbon dioxide, dry chemical or foam recommended. Apply

water spray to cool exposed closed containers.

Product arising from burning: The substance is combustible and will burn if involved in a

fire, evolving noxious fumes (eg oxides of carbon and

nitrogen). However, there is no experimental evidence to

support the anticipated combustion products.

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing

apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Small spill:

For dry powder spills, inert materials such as sand may be

added to control dusting prior to clean-up. Industrial grade

vacuum sweepers are also recommended. Place spilled

material into appropriate waste containers for disposal.

Large spill:

Contain spilled material immediately with an inert substance

such as sand or earth. Use plastic or aluminium shovel to

transfer diluted waste material into appropriate containers

for disposal.

Airborne organic pigment dust may be an explosion hazard.

Secure possible sources of ignition and avoid dusting.

Dispose of waste material by incineration or landfill in

accordance with local regulations.

Avoid release to drains and watercourses

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance should be stored, handled and used in

conditions of good industrial hygiene and in conformity with

any local regulations in order to avoid exposure.

Engineering controls are necessary to reduce exposure to the

substance.

When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled

appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn.

Such protective equipment should conform to the appropriate

international or national standards as follows;

Chemical protective gloves to Standard EN374

Chemical resistant clothing to Standard EN368

Eye protection to Standard EN166

When necessary appropriate respiratory protection should be

used. e.g. a dust mask conforming to EN149 FFP1.

The standards mentioned above should be regarded as a

minimum.

Storage: Store in a moderately cool, dry, well-ventilated area, away

from direct sources of heat. Empty containers may contain

product residues and should be treated appropriately.

Position containers so that any labelling information is

visible.

Keep containers tightly closed when not in use.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 10 kg paper bags, which are packed into cartons or Gaylords

(bulk packages containing individual containers).

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Discharge to the environment will be minimal. Recovery from

minor spillages or accidental discharge is not economically

or technically feasible, and such waste material will be

disposed of by incineration or landfill. In principle, it

may be possible to recover larger spillages of

uncontaminated material for subsequent use.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages of solutions mixed with

inert material (eg sand or soil) may be disposed of by

landfill at an authorised tip in accordance with local

regulations.

under controlled conditions at a licensed waste treatment

processor in accordance with local regulations. Stack gases

should be scrubbed, because noxious fumes (eg oxides of
