Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move affected person into fresh air, keep warm and allow to
rest. Move to fresh air in case of accidental inhalation of
dust or fumes from overheating or combustion. If symptoms
persist, call a physician. If breathing is irregular or
stopped, administer artificial respiration.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse eyes and eyelids immediately with plenty of water, for
at least 15 minutes. Remove contact lenses, protect unharmed
eye and consult a physician if needed.
Emergency measure - Skin: On contact with skin, wash off immediately with soap and
water. Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately.
If skin irritation persists, call a physician.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Rinse mouth. Administer plenty of water in small sips
(dilution effect). Do not induce vomiting without medical
advice. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious
person. Obtain medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, alcolhol-resistant foam, dry chemical or carbon
dioxide.

Product arising from burning: The substance is not highly flammable and may emit toxic
fumes of oxides of carbon and nitrogen when burning.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing
apparatus must be worn.

Fight the fire from a safe distance or protected location.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: In the event of spillage, collect the material with a shovel
(better to use an industrial vacuum cleaner of approved
type) in dry form (wearing suitable protective equipment) in
marked plastic-lined containers and incinerate in the site
solid waste incinerator which is specifically licenced for
this purpose.

Ensure adequate ventilation. Use the indicated respiratory
protection if the occupational exposure limit is exceeded
and/or in case of product release (dust).

Retain and dispose of contaminated wash water. Try to
prevent the material from entering drains or water courses.

Clean up dry. Pick up and arrange disposal without creating
dust. Puck up and transfer to properly labelled containers.
Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly while
observing enviornmental regulations.

Clean contaminated surface thoroughly with water. Never
return spills in original containers for re-use.

Handling and storage

Handling: Proper chemical handling procedures must be adopted. Use
good personal hygiene practises. Avoid dust generation.
Inhalation of the substance as well as skin and eye contact
must be avoided. As far as possible, closed equipment must
be used during filling, transfer and metered feeding as well
as during sampling. If necessary, any dust that forms

should be extracted directly at the point of origin. If
technical extraction or ventilation measures are not
possible or are insufficient, the wearing of suitable
respiratory equipment (mask with filter P2) must be worn if
there is any potential for exposure to dust.

Safety goggles, gloves of nitrile rubber and suitable
protective clothing must be worn.

Precautionary measures must be taken against static
discharges.

Avoid contact to skin and eyes and ingestion.

Storage: For the storage the original packaging drums or other
unbreakable and correctly labelled containers are to be
used. Keep containers tightly closed and secure by suitable
measures against falling down.

Keep dry and cool in the dark in a well-ventilated place
Protect from excessive temperatures.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The substance will be packaged in fibre drums, with
polyethylene liners.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None known.

Chemical reaction with water: None known.

Dust explosion: Under normal conditions of use this material does not
present a significant explosion hazard. However, like most
organic compounds it is combustible and may form a dust
explosion if widely dispersed in air.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Discharge to the environment will be minimal. Recovery from
minor spillages or accidental discharge is not economically
or technically feasible, and such waste material will be
disposed of by incineration. In principle, it may be
possible to recover larger spillages of uncontaminated
material for subsequent use.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable as the substance is not considered hazardous
at this level of notification.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: The substance is not yet fully tested and so as a
precautionary measure, waste streams containing the notified
chemical will be sent away for analysis and incineration.
Solvents will be recovered where possible and other
contaminated waste including packaging will be incinerated.
Spillages of solutions mixed with inert material (eg. sand
or soil) can be disposed of by incineration.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration by burning
under controlled conditions at a licensed waste treatment
processor in accordance with local regulations. Stack gases
should be scrubbed, because noxious fumes (eg. carbon and
nitrogen oxides)could be formed.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance should not normally be discharged directly

to the sewage system or the aqueous environment. However,
adverse effects on sewage treatment systems would be
unlikely.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable as the substance will not be made available
to the public.
