Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No acute toxicity test data were available for exposure of tripropylene glycol n-butyl ether highers (TPnB-H) to aquatic invertebrates. Therefore,
a read across approach was used for short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates based on test results for tripropylene glycol n-butyl ether (TPnB)
and SYNALOX* 100-20B ( dipropyleneglycol n-butylether initiated alkoxylate, Mw = 750).

Additional information

The 48 hr NOEC value for Daphnia magna exposed to TPnB was 1000 mg/L, while the 48 hr EL50 value in a study with SYNALOX*100 -20B was report as >100 mg/L, which was the highest concentration tested. The molecular weights for these two read across substances ranges from 248 (TPnB) to 750 for SYNALOX*100 -20B. The chemical structure and molecular weight of TPnB highers is closer to TPnB, therefore the TPnB toxicity endpoint was considered to be more accurate for read across.
