BPA-Tars was shown to be a category 2 skin irritant based on the outcome of an EU Test Method B.46 as amended "In vitro Skin Irritation" study conducted with GLP compliance. This finding was supported by results from an acute dermal rat toxicity study also demonstrating evidence of skin irritation. Based on results from an eye irritation study conducted with the structural analog Bisphenol A, BPA-Tars is considered to be an eye irritant.

Based on the results of an EU Test Method B. 46 "In vitro Skin Irritation" study BPA-Tars is a category 2 skin irritant.
