Description of key information

Considering the chemical structure and individual structural components, oxidising properties are not expected for Intermediate 36. None of the oxygen atoms impose any oxidising properties on the molecule. In addition, from the silicium contained no definitive oxidising properties are to be expected, which is supported by the experience in handling and use of the substance available. In conclusion, no experimental determination was carried out.

Additional information

The test method for the determination of the oxidising properties of a substance as described for liquid materials in Test Guideline A.21 of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008, Part A, Methods for the Determination of Physico-Chemical Properties was replaced by an evaluation on a theoretical basis. In general, compounds which have no highly electronegative atom - oxygen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine - are not likely to possess oxidising properties. Similarly, where these elements are present but the atoms are only bonded to carbon and/or hydrogen, oxidising properties are unlikely. Considering the chemical structure of the test substance and individual structural components, oxidising properties are not expected for Intermediate 36. None of the oxygen atoms impose any oxidising properties on the molecule. In addition, from the silicium contained no definitive oxidising properties are to be expected, which is supported by the experience in handling and use of the substance available. In conclusion, no experimental determination was carried out.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The test item Intermediate 36 is not to be classified for oxidising properties according to Directive 67/548/EEC and Regulation /EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP).
