Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
partition coefficient
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
comparable to guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Qualifier:
equivalent or similar to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 107 (Partition Coefficient (n-octanol / water), Shake Flask Method)
GLP compliance:
not specified
Type of method:
flask method
Partition coefficient type:
octanol-water
Specific details on test material used for the study:
batch #110200/51
Key result
Type:
log Pow
Partition coefficient:
0.486
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
ca. 1
Details on results:
The work was performed at ambient temperatures (not reported)
The pH of solution in water is pH 1. At higher pH, insoluble titanium salts (oxide/hydroxide) precipitate out. These inorganic salts are not soluble in octanol.
Conclusions:
The octanol-water partition co-efficient, Log Kow was determined using the shake flask method. Log Kow was determined to be 0.486
Executive summary:

The octanol-water partition co-efficient, Log Kow was determined using the shake flask method. Log Kow was determined to be 0.486

The pH of  solution in water is pH 1.  At higher pH, insoluble titanium salts (oxide/hydroxide) precipitate out.  These inorganic salts are not soluble in octanol.
