Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
melting point/freezing point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 102 (Melting point / Melting Range)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
method to determine freezing temperature
Key result
Melting / freezing pt.:
< -50 °C
Remarks on result:
other: The atmospheric pressure was not specified in the report.

The sample incubated at 5°C was reported to be a thick, viscous gel with no solidification. The sample incubated at <-17°C was reported to be more viscous than the 5°C sample, but still not a solid. After approximately 5 hours of equilibrium at less than -50°C, the test material was tacky when touched with a spatula, but did not solidify or form crystals.
