Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
flammable solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2004
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids))
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period

Upon removal of the ignition source the flame extinguished with the start segment. The test substance didn`t burn up or burn down. No further testing was required.

Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
The substance is not highly flammable.
Executive summary:

According to EU Method A. 10 the substance is not highly flammable. Upon removal of the ignition source the flame extinguished with the start segment. The test substance didn`t burn up or burn down.

Endpoint:
substances / mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2004
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.12 (Flammability (Contact with Water))
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Key result
Remarks on result:
no reaction with water observed

The test substance does not liberate gases in hazardous amounts.

Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
The test substance does not liberate gases in hazardous amounts.
Executive summary:

The test was performed as stipulated in Test Procedure A 12 for determination of flammability in case of contact with water or moist air. The test substance does not liberate gases in hazardous amounts.

Description of key information

- Flammability: According to EU Method A. 10 the substance is not highly flammable. Upon removal of the ignition source the flame extinguished with the start segment. The test substance didn`t burn up or burn down.
- contact with water: The test was performed as stipulated in Test Procedure A 12 for determination of flammability in case of contact with water or moist air. The test substance does not liberate gases in hazardous amounts.
- Pyrophoric properties: In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, a study does not need to be conducted as it is scientifically unjustified. Based on experience during handling and use, no pyrophoric properties were observed and the structure does not give a reference to pyrophoric properties.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

There is no classification for the substance resulting out of the studies of flammability, contact with water and pyrophoric properties. In all tests no effect could determined for the substance.
