Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

DESCRIPTION OF FIRST AID MEASURES

Inhalation-

If inhaled, move to fresh air. Rinse nose and mouth with water. Get medical attention if symptoms (irritations) develop and persist.

Skin contact-

Remove contaminated clothing. Wash exposed skin with soap and water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention if symptoms (irritations) develop and persist.

Eye contact-

Rinse eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifitng the upper and lower eyelids. If easy to do, remove contact lenses if worn, continue rinsing. Seek medical attention if symptoms (irritations) develop and persist.

Ingestion-

If swallowed, wash out mouth with water. Seek medical attention if larger quantities have been ingested.

MOST IMPORTANT SYMPTOMS AND EFFECTS, BOTH ACUTE AND DELAYED

To the best of our knowledge the toxicity of this substance has not been fully investigated, thus symptoms and effects are not fully known. May be harmful if swallowed iwht expected symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting. Irritation effects such as skin and eye irritation and to upper respiratory tract cannot be excluded as being a hydrochloride salt. Other adverse effects cannot be excluded.

INDICATION OF ANY IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION AND SPECIAL TREATMENT NEEDED

Treat symptomatically and supportively.

Fire-fighting measures

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA

- Suitable extinguishing media:

Use water spray, foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide as appropriate for surrounding fire and materials.

- Unsuitalble extinguishing media:

No limitations given for this substance

SPECIAL HAZARDS ARISING FROM THE SUBSTANCE OR MIXTURE

Combustible, but not flammable. In case of fire toxic fumes of carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx) and hydrogen chloride (HCl) may be formed.

No explosivity or flammability data identified. High concentrations of finely divided airborne oraganic particles can potentially explode if ignited.

ADVICE FOR FIREFIGHTERS

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing to prevent contact with skin and eyes. Prevent fire-extinguishing water from contaminating the watercourses.

Accidental release measures

PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS, PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

If product is released or spilled, take proper precautions to minimize exposure by using appropriate personal protective equipment (see section Exposure controls / Personal protection). Avoid raising dust. Area should be adequately ventilated.

ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS

Collect spillage and place in specific bins and send for destruction. Avoid release to drains. End with flushing the spillage area with water.

METHODS AND MATERIAL FOR CONTAINMENT AND CLEANING UP

A small spill may be handled with water moistened disposable cloth and placed in container for chemical waste. A larger spill should be collected and placed in container for disposal. Use recommended personal protective equipment. Wash spill site with water after completed pick up.

Handling and storage

PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING

Avoid dust geneartion and inhalation of dust. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Ensure good ventialtion. As being an organic powder, flammable dust clouds in air may be formed. Dust clouds are generally sensitive to ignition by electrostatic discharge and other ignition sources. Ensure good earthing of equipment and personnel.

CONDITIONS FOR SAFE STORAGE, INCLUDING ANY INCOMPATIBILITIES

Store at ambient conditions, generally 15 to 25C, and keep the container tightly closed.

Exposure controls / personal protection

CONTROL PARAMETERS

To the best of our knowledge, established occupational exposure limit value is not available.

EXPOSURE CONTROL

Appropriate engineering controls -

Use appropriate controls (e.g. containment, local exhaust ventilation) as specified in a workplace risk assessment. Technical measures and appropriate operations should be given priority over the use of personal protecive equipment. Handle in accordance with good industrila hygiene and safety practice.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

Eye face protection -

Wear safety glasses with side shields. An emergency eye wash station  should be available.

Skin protection -

Handle iwht gloves. The selected gloves must comply wiht the specifications in EC Directive 89/686/EEC and the related standard EN374 or applicable federal, state and national legislation.

Protective clothing -

Use impervious, disposable clothing to prevent skin contact. The type should be selected according to concentrations, quantities and duration of handling at the specifc workplace.

Respiratory protection -

Required when dusts are generated. Choice of respiratory protection should be appropriate to the task and the level of engineering controls. Use air-purifying respirator with combination filters. In laboratories, use fume hood or dust control hood.

Environmental exposure controls -

Avoid release into drains or water courses.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity -

No known reactivity hazards under normal conditions.

Chemical stability -

The subsance is chemically stable at standard room temperature conditions, generally 15 to 25C

Possibility of hazardous reactions and conditions to avoid -

Not expected to occur

Incompatible materials -

Strong oxidants and strong reducing agents

Hazardous decomposition products -

Carbon oxides (COx), nitrogen oxides (NOx) and hydrogen chloride (HCl) may be formed.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods -

Dispose waste at authorized plant, in accordance with Directive 2008/98/EC and/or applicable federal, state, national or local legislation.
