First-aid measures

General advice:

Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately. If someone exposed to the product  feels unwell, contact a doctor and show this safety data sheet. Adhere to personal protective measures when giving first aid.

Treatment:

Treat symptomatically.

First aider needs to protect himself.

If inhaled:

Remove the casualty into fresh air and keep him calm. Call in a physician immediately and show him the Safety Data Sheet. No direct breathing aid should be given by the first medical helper.

In case of skin contact:

In case of contact with skin wash off immediately with polyethylene glycol 400, then with plenty of water. Seek medical advice immediately.

In case of eye contact:

Rinse immediately with gently running water for 15 minutes, maintaining eyelids open. Consult at once an ophthalmologist or a physician.

If swallowed:

Call in a physician immediately and show him the Safety Data Sheet. Induce vomiting in case medical help is not readily available and when the patient is concious (Vomit should not go into the respiratoy air tract).

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:

Water spray, Foam

In case of fires, hazardous combustion gases are formed:

Carbon monoxide (CO)

Nitrous gases (NOx)

Phosphorus oxides (eg Phosphorus pentoxide)

Hydrogen chloride (HCl)

Special protective equipment for firefighters:

Impermeable protective clothing (jacket and trousers) with helmet. Use self-contained breathing apparatus

Further information:

Fire residues and contaminated firefighting water must be disposed of in accordance with the local regulations.

Accidental release measures

Use personal protection equipment as required. Keep unauthorized persons away, cordon off the danger area and secure with warning signs.

Do not allow entry to drains,water courses or soil.

Methods for cleaning up:

Take up with suitable equipment and if necessary collect in closed containers. Avoid raising dust.

Containers in which spilt substance has been collected must be adequately labelled.

Dispose of absorbed material in accordance with the regulations.

Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly, observing environmental regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling:

During its whole lifecycle the substance is handled in closed system under strictly controlled conditions in accordance to Art. 17/18(4) of the REACH legislation. This fact is confirmed by the producerand the user of the product.

Storage:

Keep only in the original container. Keep container tightly closed in a well-ventilated place.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion:

Organic products which are intentionally or unintentionally in powdered form have, in principle, the possibility of creating a dust explosion hazard.

Avoid impact, friction and accumulation of electrostatic charge. Keep away from sources of ignition - refrain from smoking.

Hygiene measures:

Keep away from foodstuffs and beverages.

Wear suitable protective clothing and gloves.

Provide washing facilities at the place of work.

Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately.

Store work clothing separately.

Wash hands before breaks and after work.

Exposure controls / personal protection

During the whole lifecycle all necessary measures in accordance to Art. 17/18(4) of REACH legislation are undertaken to minimise emissions and any resulting exposure.

Personal precautions:

Eye protection: safety glasses/face shield

Hand protection: Butyl rubber gloves.

With solid dry substances permeation is not to be expected, therefore the breakthrough-time for this protective glove has not been measured.

These types of protective gloves are offered by various manufacturers. Please note the manufacturers´ detailed statements, especially about the minimum thickness and the min-imum breakthrough time. Consider also the particular working conditions under which the gloves are being used.

Skin and body protection: protective clothing

Stability and reactivity

No decomposition if stored and applied as directed.

When handled and stored appropriately no dangerous reactions are known.

Avoid contact with oxidizing agents.

Disposal considerations

Product: Special waste incineration plant, after consultation with operators.

Contaminated packaging: Packaging that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of as product waste.
