Description of key information

The Log Pow measured of this complex reaction product are ranged from 1.1 to 6.2. 83.2% of the components of this UVCB have Log Pow ranged from 1.49 to 4.74.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
4.74

Additional information

The octanol/water partition coefficient of 4,4’-Isopropylidenediphenol, ethoxylated, esters with acrylic acid and isononanoic acid was determined by an experimental study performed in accordance with OECD testing guideline 117 and GLP requirements.

Since the test item is present as a complex reaction product, a range of octanol/water partition coefficient log values (1.1 to 6.2) was determined. 83.2% of the components of this UVCB have Log Pow ranged from 1.49 to 4.74.

The chromatogram obtained by HPLC showed three peaks representing together 83.2% of all the UVCB. The other peaks covered each less than 10% of the total area under the curve. Therefore, these three peaks representing the most abundant components of this complex reaction product (>>10%), the highest log Pow value (4.74) in this range was used for chemical safety assessment (CSA).

The highest value was considered as a worst-case value, increase of n-octanol/water partition coefficient value leading to a significant increase of Predicted Environmental Concentration in sediments and soil.
