Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Substance: 2-(2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethoxy)ethanol: Leuciscus idus: 96hr LC0>10000mg/l

Substance: tetramethylglycol Pimephales promelas: 96hr LC0>20000mg/l, LC100<40000mg/l. Fish embryo toxicity test, 96hr NOEC=2080mg/L.

QSAR predicts decreasing toxicity with increasing molecular weight within the homologous series.

LC50 is set at the highest NOEC available for the lowest molecular weight component of the mult-constituent substance. This is a very conservative approach but sufficient to meet the data needs for the end point and for classification purposes.
