Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

This multi-constituent substance is a mixture of molecules with 4 or 5 ethylene oxide 'monomer' units with a methoxy terminal function at one end of the molecule and a hydroxyl function group at the other end. The read across justification document attached to relevant records in the IUCLID dossier show the trends in how the toxicological properties vary within the E series glycol ethers as a whole and the polyethylene oxide methyl ether series in particular.

The evaluation in this section is based on the data for the substance 2 -(2 -(2 -methoxyethoxy)ethoxy)ethanol (3xEO units). This component is expected to exhibit the highest level of toxicity (within an overall spectrum of very low toxicity) and therefore an evaluation based on this component alone will produce a conservative assessment for this multi-constituent substance.
