Melting/Freezing Temperature. Determined to be less than 253 K, using BS4633: Method for the Determination of Crystallizing Point, Method A.1 Melting/Freezing Temperature of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 and Method 102 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 27 July 1995.

Description of key information

The melting/freezing temperature of the substance was determined to be < -20 °C (< 253 K) at ambient atmospheric pressure according to OECD Guideline 102. 

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A dry ice/acetone bath equipped with a thermometer was used to determine the properties of the substance at temperatures down to -20 °C. Temperature and observations of the test material were recorded approximately every 30 seconds. During cooling, the substance became increasingly viscous. Freezing was not observed down to -20 °C, therefore the freezing temperature of the substance is < -20 °C (< 253 K) at ca. 1013 hPa.
