Description of key information

A study according to OECD guideline 404 and a HET-CAM test were conducted. Both studies were conducted in compliance with GLP (incl. certificate). The test substance was not irritating to the skin of rabbits. In the HET-CAM test, the chorionallantoic membrane of the eggs did not show any irritation effects.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin irritation / corrosion

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not irritating)

Additional information

A study in accordance with OECD guideline 404 with 3 rabbits demonstrated no irritation potential of the test material. Both the mean erythema value scores as well as the edema value scores of the 24-48-72 h time points were zero.

In the HET-CAM test the occurrence of vascular injury (haemorrhagia) or intravascular coagulation in response to the test substance was recorded. The chorionallantoic membrane of the eggs did not show a corrosive effect.

Effect level: empty Endpoint conclusion: Adverse effect observed

Justification for classification or non-classification

Because the substance shows no irritation potential to the skin of rabbits under the test conditions chosen, a classification is not warranted concerning this endpoint.

A corrosive effect on the chorionallantoic membrane of the fertilized eggs was not observed. Therefore, no evidence for serious eye damage is given under the test conditions chosen.
