Additional information

Stability

Aldehydes including n/i-C13 -C15 –aldehydes are hydrolytically stable due to their chemical structure and reactivity in aqueous environmental compartments under ambient conditions (GUBDH, 2008).

Biodegradation

n/i-C13 -C15 –aldehydes were shown to be readily biodegradable in a valid GLP OECD TG 310 guideline test which is considered to be suitable for assessment (Harlan, 2011).

Adsorption

The adsorption coefficient for n/i-C13-C15-aldehydes indicates that adsorption to soil is possible (estimated log Koc: 3.12; ECT, 2011).

Henry's Law Constant

The HLC for n/i-C13 -C15 -aldehydes was estimated to be 155 to 273 Pa*m³/mol (ECT, 2011). Based on these values the evaporation of n/i-C13 -C15 -aldehyde from the water surface and moist soil is expected.
