Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The test item Fatty acids, tall-oil- reaction products with diethylenetriamine (EFKA K 089) is an UVCB substance consisting of substructures with different alkyl chains. Each substructure has its own bioaccumulation potential in the environment. Therefore, each substructure was modelled for its bioaccumulation potential by using the QSAR tool Catalogic 5.12.1, BCF base-line model v. 02.09, from the OECD toolbox. Substructures were modelled based on smiles code of the substructures given in Chap. 1.1 identification.

The highest log BCF determined for the substructure 1 was 2.41 corresponding to a BCF of 257, whereas all other log BCF values ranged at 0.87 corresponding to  a BCF value of 7.4. According to the modelled log BCF, respectively the BCF values, there is no indication that the test item with its substructure has no significant tendency to accumulate in organisms.
