Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Amides, C16-C18 (even numbered) will not evaporate from the water surface.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No experimental studies investigating the Henry’s Law Constant of amides, C16-C18 (even numbered) are available. Because the substance is a composition of different homologues, the Henry’s Law Constant was calculated for representative components using SRC HENRYWIN v3.20.

If the substance is exposed to water, it will not evaporate into the atmosphere from the water surface because of its Henry's Law Constant of 0.05 - 0.1 Pa m³/mol (25 °C).
