First-aid measures

General information Remove contaminated clothing immediately and dispose of safely. After inhalation Ensure supply of fresh air. In case of persisting adverse effects consult a physician. After skin contact Remove with a cloth or paper. Wash off with soap and water. Consult a doctor if skin irritation persists. After eye contact In case of contact with the eyes, rinse immediately for at least 15 minutes with plenty of water. Eye treatment by an oculist. After ingestion Rinse out mouth and give plenty of water to drink. Do not induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Call a doctor.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media Foam; Carbon dioxide; Dry chemicals Extinguishing media that must not be used for safety reasons Full water jet Special exposure hazards arising from the substance or preparation itself, combustion products, resulting gases In case of fires, hazardous combustion gases are formed: Carbon dioxide (CO2); Carbon monoxide (CO); Nitrogen oxides (NOx) Special protective equipment for fire-fighters Use self-contained breathing apparatus. Wear protective clothing.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions Refer to protective measures listed in sections 7 and 8. Environmental precautions Do not discharge into the drains/surface waters/groundwater. Do not discharge into the subsoil/soil. Methods for cleaning up/taking up Take up with absorbent material (e.g., sand, kieselguhr, universal binder).

Handling and storage

Handling Advice on safe handling Observe the usual precautions for handling chemicals. Provide good ventilation of working area (local exhaust ventilation, if necessary). Storage Requirements for storage rooms and vessels Keep in original packaging, tightly closed.
Advice on storage assembly Do not store together with: Amines; Bases; Alcohols; Mercaptans; Lewis acids Further information on storage conditions Keep container tightly closed and dry in a cool, well-ventilated place.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Exposure limit values N O N E Exposure controls Personal protective equipment Respiratory protection If workplace exposure limits are exceeded, a respiration protection approved for this particular job must be worn. In case of aerosol and mist formation, take appropriate measures for breathing protection in the event workplace threshold values are not specified. Hand protection Sufficient protection is given wearing suitable protective gloves checked according to i.e. EN 374, in the event of risk of skin contact with the product . Before use, the protective glove should be tested in any case for its specific work-station suitability (i.e. mechanical resistance, product compatibility and antistatic properties). Adhere to the manufacturer’s instructions and information relating to the use, storage, care and replacement of protective gloves. Protective gloves shall be replaced immediately when physically damaged or worn. Design operations thus to avoid permanent use of protective gloves. Appropriate Material butyl rubber Eye protection Safety glasses with side protection shield (EN 166) Skin protection Clothing as usual in the chemical industry. General protective and hygiene measures Observe the usual precautions when handling chemicals. Do not eat, drink or smoke during work time. After worktime and during work intervals the affected skin areas must be thoroughly cleaned. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Keep away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs.

Stability and reactivity

Conditions to avoid None, if handled according to order. Materials to avoid Amines; Mercaptans; Lewis acid; Bases; Alcohols Hazardous decomposition products None, if handled according to order Thermal decomposition Remarks No decomposition if used as prescribed. Other information (chapter 10.) Contact with incompatible substances: Polymerisation hazard.

Disposal considerations

Product Allocation of a waste code number, according to the European Waste Catalogue, should be carried out in agreement with the regional waste disposal company. Packaging Contaminated packaging should be emptied as far as possible and after appropriate cleansing may be taken for reuse. Packaging that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of in agreement with the regional waste disposal company.
