First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures:

Inhalation: Remove to fresh air

Skin contact: Flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical advice, if necessary.

Eye contact: Flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical advice, if necessary.

Ingestion: Immediately rinse mouth and then drink plenty of water. If feeling unwell, after accidental swallowing, consult the doctor.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed: Data not available on toxuc symptoms.

Treatment: Treat symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Dry chemical powder, foam, carbon dioxide, water.

Unsuitable extinguishing media: Not known.

Special hazards arising from substance or mixture itself, combustion products, resulting gases: Development of hazardous combustion gases like oxides of carbon, nitrogen and sulfur possible in the event of fire.

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters: Wear personal protective equipment and self contained breathing apparatus.

Further information: Contaminated extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local/regional regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Use personal protective equopment. Wash hands after exposure with the substance. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing.

Environmental precautions: Do not discharge into drains, surface water or ground water.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up:

Small spills: absorb with suitable absorbent material. Collect in suitable and properly labelled container.

Large spills: Contain spilled material if possible. Pump into suitable and prperly labelled containers.

Dispose of absorbed/collected material in accordance with regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling: Follow general occupational hygiene such as, wash hands after use. Do not eat, drink or smoke in work areas. Remove contaminated clothing. Avoid spills.

Storage: Store the material in a clean and dry place at 20-30°C, away from direct heat and sunlight. Keep the container tightly closed. In original sealed condition, when stored as suggested, the shelf life of the product is at least 2 years. Stacking should be maximum 1+1 carboys.

Suitable packing materials: HMHDPE carboys

Unsuitable packing materials: Mild steel
