Details on results:
- Observations of parent animals
During test period, there was no abnormal color and responses of parent animals in blank control and all test substance groups.
The time presence of the first eggs in the brood pouch in blank control and the nominal loading rate of 1.0 mg/L, 1.7 mg/L, 2.8 mg/L, 4.8 mg/L and 8.0 mg/L test substance groups were all 5.0 ± 0.0d, and the time to production of first brood in blank: control and all test substance groups were 7.9 ± 0.4d, 8.0 ± 0.0d, 8.0 ± 0.0d, 8.0 ± 0.0d, 8.0 ± 0.0d and 8.2 ± 0.7d, respectively.
- Mortality rate of parent animals
At the end of the test, there were no parent animal dead in the control group, which met the quality requirement that the mortality of the parent animals (female Daphnia) should not exceed 20% at the end of the test.
At the end of the test, the mortality of parent animals in nominal loading rate of 1.0 mg/L, 1.7 mg/L, 2.8 mg/L, 4.8 mg/L and 8.0 mg/L test groups were 0%, 0%, 0%, 20% and 40%. There was no statistically significant difference (p > 0.05) between blank control and 1.0 mg/L, 1.7 mg/L and 2.8 mg/L test substance groups, and 4.8 mg/L and 8.0 mg/L test substance groups had significant difference with blank control (p ≤ 0.05) in terms of the mortality of parent animals. So according to the mortality of parent animal, LOEL was 8.0 mg/L (based on nominal loading rate WAF), NOEL was 4.8 mg/L (based on nominal loading rate WAF).
- Body length of the parent animals
At the end of the test, there was no statistically significant difference (p > 0.05) between 1.0 mg/L and 1.7 mg/L test groups and blank control in terms of body length by Dunnett's test. 2.8 mg/L, 4.8 mg/L and 8.0 mg/L test groups had significant difference (p ≤ 0.05) with bank control in terms of body length. So according to the body length of the parent animals, LOEL was 2.8 mg/L (based on nominal loading rate WAF), NOEL was 1.7 mg/L (based on nominal loading rate WAF).
- Living offspring by each parent animal
At the end of the test, the mean ± SD of reproductive output of the control group was 109 ± 5 offspring per surviving parent animal. The coefficient of variation in the control group was 4%.
No dead offspring and aborted broods were observed in blank control and nominal loading rate of 1.0 mg/L, 1.7 mg/L, 2.8 mg/L, 4.8 mg/L and 8.0 mg/L test groups during the test.
The total number of living offspring produced per surviving parent animal in each concentration of the test substance were estimated by Dunnett's test. The results revealed that there was no statistically significant difference (p > 0.05) between blank control and 1.0 mg/L and 1.7 mg/L test groups, and 2.8 mg/L, 4.8 mg/L and 8.0 mg/L test groups had significant difference with blank control (p ≤ 0.05) in terms of the number of living offspring produced per adult. So according to the reproductive output, LOEL was 2.8mg/L (based on nominal loading rate WAF), NOEL was 1.7 mg/L (based on nominal loading rate WAF).
According to the effects on reproduction, the EL50 of Daphnia magna 5.62 mg/L and the 95% confidence limits ranged from 4.41 mg/L to 6.33 mg/L calculated by A Linear Interpolation Method (based on nominal loading rate WAF).

The measured concentrations of Lithium in the nominal loading rates of 1.0 mg/L, 1.7 mg/L, 2.8 mg/L, 4.8 mg/L and 8.0 mg/L WAF solution test groups at the start of the exposure and after the renewal ranged from 0.0523 mg/L to 0.301mg/L, equivalent to 51 % - 133% of the nominal concentration of Li after removing the measured concentration of Li of blank control; and the measured concentrations of Li before the renewal and at the end of the exposure ranged from 0.0502 mg/L to 0 .2 95 mg/L, equivalent to 35% - 122% of the nominal concentration of Li after removing the measured concentration of Li of blank control. During 24h intervals, the measured concentrations of Li of higher concentration test groups (2.8 mg/L, 4.8 mg/L and 8.0 mg/L) were mostly maintained within ± 20% of the nominal concentration of Li, but a part of the measured concentrations of Li of lower concentration test groups (1.0 mg/L and 1.7 mg/L) were lower than 80% of the nominal concentration of Li.

The measured concentrations of oxalic ion in test solutions

The measured concentrations of oxalic ion in blank control were lower than the limit of detection (LOD = 0.006 mg/L) at 0h and 24h (old solution) after the start of the test.

The measured concentrations of oxalic ion in the nominal loading rates of 1.0 mg/L, 1.7 mg/L, 2.8 mg/L, 4.8 mg/L and 8.0 mg/L WAF solution test groups at the start of the exposure and after the renewal ranged from < 0.006 mg/L (LOD) to 3.92 mg/L, equivalent to 0% - 193% of the nominal concentration of oxalic ion; and the measured concentrations of oxalic ion before the renewal and at the end of the exposure ranged from < 0.006 mg/L (LOD) to 3.42 mg/L, equivalent to 0% - 176% of the nominal concentration of oxalic ion. During the test, the measured concentrations of oxalic ion could not be maintained within ± 20% of the nominal concentration of oxalic ion during 24h intervals, there is not any law for concentration change.
