Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures
Skin
Wash with soap and water for 20 minutes or until chemical is removed. Get medical attention if irritation develops. Launder contaminated clothing before reuse.

Eyes
Flush with water at least 30 minutes. Get medical attention if eye irritation develops or persists.

Inhaled
Remove exposed person to fresh air if adverse effects are observed.

Swallowed
DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. Get immediate medical attention.

Advice for first-aid providers
When providing first aid always protect yourself against exposure to chemicals or blood born diseases by wearing gloves, masks and eye protection. After
providing first aid wash your exposed skin with soap and water.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
See section “Toxicological Information”.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
Note to physician: Treat symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures

Fire Fighting Measures

Extinguishing Media
CO2, dry chemical, or foam. Water can be used to cool and protect exposed material.

Special hazards arising from substance or mixture
Toxic fumes, gases or vapors may evolve on burning or exposure to heat. See section 10 for additional information.

Advice for firefighters
Wear full protective firegear including self-containing breathing apparatus operated in the positive pressure mode with full facepiece, coat, pants, gloves and
boots. Water may cause splattering.

Accidental release measures

Accidental Release Measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
Personal protective equipment must be worn. Ventilate area if spilled in a confined space or other poorly ventilated area.

Environmental precautions
Take precautions to avoid release to the environment. Prevent from entering into soil, ditches, sewers, waterways and/or groundwater.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
Pick up free liquid for recycle and/or disposal. Residual liquid can be absorbed on inert material.

Reference to other sections
See sections “Exposure Controls/Personal Protection” and “Disposal Considerations” for additional information.

Handling and storage

Handling and Storage

Precautions for safe handling
Use with adequate ventilation. Open container in a well ventilated area. Avoid breathing vapors. Keep containers closed when not in use. Do not discharge into
drains or the environment, dispose to an authorized waste collection point. Use appropriate containment to avoid environmental contamination. Sulfur dioxide may build up in the container vapor space or head space following storage or transport at temperatures above 100 deg F (38 deg C). Wash thoroughly after handling.
Launder contaminated clothing before reuse. Empty containers retain material residue. Do not cut, weld, braze, solder, drill, grind or expose containers to heat,
flame, spark or other sources of ignition. Dispose of packaging or containers in accordance with local, regional, national and international regulations.

Pumping Temperature
Ambient

Maximum Handling Temperature
70 °C, 158 °F

Maximum Loading Temperature
Not determined.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilites
Store in well ventilated place. Take precautions to avoid release to the environment.

Maximum Storage Temperature
45 °C, 113 °F

Specific end use(s)
End uses are listed in an attached exposure scenario when one is required.

Other Exposure Limits
None known.

Exposure controls
Material should be handled in enclosed vessels and equipment, in which case general (mechanical) room ventilation should be sufficient. Local exhaust ventilation should be used at points where dust, mist, vapors or gases can escape into the room air. If this is not possible, use local exhaust ventilation at all points of potential vapor or mist release.

Eye/face protection
Safety glasses. If oil mist is generated, chemical goggles are recommended.

Skin protection
Use good industrial hygiene practices to avoid skin contact. If contact with the material may occur wear chemically protective gloves.
Long sleeve shirt is recommended. Launder contaminated clothing before reuse.

Respiratory Protection
Use respirator with a combination organic vapor and high efficiency filter cartridge if recommended exposure limit is exceeded. Use full face respirator with acid gas cartridge Use self-contained breathing apparatus for entry into confined space, for other poorly ventilated areas and for large spill clean-up sites.

Hygiene Measures
Wash thoroughly after handling this product.

Environmental exposure controls
See section “Accidental Release Measures” for details.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity
Carefully review all information provided in the following sections.

Chemical stability
Material is normally stable at moderately elevated temperatures and pressures.

Possibility of hazardous reactions
Will not occur.

Conditions to avoid
Not determined.

Incompatible materials
None known, avoid contact with reactive chemicals.

Hazardous decomposition products
Smoke, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, aldehydes and other products of incomplete combustion. Under combustion conditions, oxides of the following
elements will be formed: sulfur.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods
All disposal practices must be in accordance with local, regional, national and international regulations. Do not dispose in landfill.
Empty container retains product residue and can be hazardous. Do not pressurize, cut, weld, braze, solder, drill, grind or expose containers to heat, flame, sparks, static electricity, or other sources of ignition. Dispose of packaging or containers in accordance with local, regional, national and international regulations.
