Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Tetrabutan, dest. is not acutely harmful for freshwater fish.
LC50 (96 h, semi static) > 26 µg/L (measured)/ which constitutes the solubility limit of the test substance under the conditions of the test (Danio rerio, 92/69/EEC part C.1)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Tetrabutan, dest. was tested in acute toxicity test with zebrafish Danio rerio under semi-static conditions according to the guideline EU Method C.1 (Acute Toxicity for Fish). The test was conducted as limit test. In order to attain the solubility limit of the test substance in water 1 g Tetrabutan, dest./L was stirred for 18 h and afterwards, undissolved test substance was removed by filtration. A loss of test substance over the test period was recorded by analytical determination with gas chromatography, probably attributable to absorption effects. No effects on the exposed zebrafish were recorded, thus the LC0≥ 26 µg/L and the LC50 > 26 µg/L which constitutes the solubility limit of Tetrabutan, dest. under the conditions of the test.
