Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Readily biodegradable: 92% in 28 d (ISO method); 77.9% (CO2) in 28 days (OECD 301B; not GLP) (read across from a structural analogue: Octan-1-ol).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The most recent standard reliable study available contains significant and useful results but was not conducted to GLP. This study gave results of 77.97% (CO2) in 28 days (OECD 301B) (readily biodegradable).

Due to the lack of GLP, another reliable standard study (P&G 1996), which also found the substance to be readily biodegradable, is the Key study.
