First-aid measures

FOR EYE CONTACT: Flush with large quantities of gently flowing water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention.

FOR SKIN CONTACT: Flush with large quantities of water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contaminated clothes and wash before re-use.

FOR INHALATION: If inhaled remove affected person to fresh air. If breathing is difficult give oxygen. Seek medical attention.

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Water spray, carbon dioxide, or dry chemical as appropriate for surrounding fire and materials.

SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING PORCEDURES: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and standard fire fighting clothing.

UNUSUAL FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS: As with most organic powders, dust explosion may occur when powder is dispersed into the air.

Accidental release measures

SPILL/LEAK CLEANUP PROCEDURES: Wear NIOSH approved chemical cartridge respirator with HEPA cartridges. Ventilate the area and use mechanical means to pick up spilled material avoiding any dust generation. Collect material in suitable container for disposal as hazardous waste. Wash affected area with appropriate solvent before reassuming activities.

Handling and storage

Store in tightly closed amber or light-proof container at 25° C. Protect from light.

Exposure controls / personal protection

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Impervious gloves, safety glasses with sideshields or chemical goggles, labcoat or uniform. Larger quantities of powder may require full-face chemical cartridge respirator with HEPA cartridges and protective clothing coveralls.

WORKPLACE CONSIDERATIONS:

VENTILATION: Use only in a laboratory hood unit with one pass air.

SAFETY STATIONS: Safety shower and eye bath should be accessible

Stability and reactivity

COMPOUND STABILITY: Unstable to exposure to light. Store in a cool dark place.

Disposal considerations

Incineration is the preferred method of disposal. Observe all Federal, state and local laws concerning the disposal of hazardous material or waste.
