First-aid measures

Observe self-protection. Remove respiratory protection not before removing contaminated clothing.

In case of inhalation:
Move affected person into fresh air, keep warm and allow to rest in a position comfortable for breathing.
In case of apnoea: breath donation under self-protection or using breathing apparatus, if necessary with oxygen. Seek immediate medical advice.

In case of skin (or hair) contact:
Remove contaminated, saturated clothing immediately and dispose off safely.
Wash off immediately with plenty water and soap, consult a physician if problems persist.

In case of eye contact:
Rinse thoroughly with plenty of flowing water for 10 to 15 minutes holding eyelids apart. Remove contact lenses if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Protect uninjured eye. Consult an ophthalmologist if problems persist.

In case of ingestion:
Rinse out mouth immediately and give plenty of water to drink in small sips. Do not induce vomiting. Seek immediate medical advice.

If there is a risk of loss of consciousness, place and transport affected person in the recovery position. No administration in cases of unconsciousness or cramps.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media:
Suitable extinguishing media: Water spray jet, dry extinguishing powder; carbon dioxide (CO2); alcohol resistant foam.
Unsuitable extinguishing media: Full water jet.

Special hazards arising from the substance:
Combustible; vapours are heavier than air. Forms explosive mixtures with air at ambient temperatures.
In case of fire may be liberated: carbon oxide, toxic pyrolysis products. Burning produce heavy smoke.
Pay attention to flashback.

Advice for fire-fighters:
Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical protective clothing.
Do not allow the product and the extinguishing water to enter the environment.
Dispose of fire debris and contaminated extinguishing water in accordance with official regulations.
Keep containers cool by spaying with water if exposed to fire.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:

for non-emergency personnel:
Provide adequate ventilation.
Remove all sources of ignition, avoid heat and sparks.
Avoid inhalation and contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection and if necessary respiratory protection.
Keep unprotected people away and stay on the upwind side.

for emergency responders:
In case of large amounts wear a self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical protective clothing.
Vapours can accumulate in deep areas and form an explosive atmosphere.

Environmental precautions:
Do not allow to enter drains (danger of explosion)/surface water/ground-water or into soil/subsoil.
Limit leakages with earth or sand.
In case of entry into waterways, soil or drains, inform the responsible authorities.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
For large amount: dike spillage. Pump off product.
For residues: Pick up with suitable absorbent material
Suitable material for taking up: universal binder, sand, silica gel.
Treat the recovered material as prescribed in the section on waste disposal.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling:
The usual precautions in handling chemicals have to be observed.
Use only in well-ventilated areas or under sufficing exhaustion.
Avoid development of vapours, aerosols, keep container tightly closed.
It is recommended to design all work processes always so that the following is excluded: Inhalation, skin contact, eye contact. Keep respiratory protection at hand.
Only use the material in places where open light, fire and other flammable sources can be kept away.
Take precautionary measures against static discharges.
Appropriate materials are metal and glass.
Inappropriate materials: plastic material, rubber.
Open and handle container with care.
Wash contaminated skin immediately, do not allow drying up of the product.
Do not wear jewel for arms and hands during the work.
Wash hands and other contaminated areas before breaks and after work.
Use protective skin cream (lipid regulating cream) after skin cleaning.
Keep working clothes separately.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
Store in the original container, tightly closed and in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place, distant from flammable and heat sources and protected from direct sunlight.
Keep locked up or keep/store that only authorized persons have access so.
For storage, the requirements of the Technical Rule (TRGS) 510 must be complied, the product is classified in the LGK 3.
A clustering with explosive substances (LGK 1), gases (LGK 2), other explosive substances (LGK 4.2), substances which in contact with water develop flammable gases(LGK 4.3), strong oxidizing agents over 1 t (LGK 5.1B), ammonium nitrate (LGK 5.1C), organic peroxides and self-decomposable substances (LGK 5.2) non-flammable acute toxic (LGK 6.1B) infectious (LGK 6.2) or radioactive substances (LGK 7) is prohibited.
Materials that may cause a development of a fire or transfer fires quickly, such as paper, textiles, wood, may not be stored in the storage section.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Personal protective equipment:

General protective and hygiene measures:
Keep away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs. Take off contaminated clothing immediately. Wash the hands before breaks and at end of work. Separate stowage of protective clothing. Avoid inhalation of gases/vapour/aerosols. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Eye / face protection:
Suitable eye protection: Eye glasses with side protection (according to EN 166).

Skin protection:
- Hand protection:
- By long-term hand contact:
Suitable gloves type (recommended protective index 6, corresponding >480 min of permeation time according to EN 374):
Fluor caoutchouc (FKM), 0,7 mm coating thickness; Viton, 0,7 mm coating thickness
- By short-term hand contact (spraying contact, 10 - 30 min
Nitrile caoutchouc, 0,4 mm coating thickness

Supplementary note:
The specifications are based on literature and information of glove manufacturer or are derived from similar substances by analogy. Due to many conditions (e.g. temperature) it must be considered, that the practical usage of a chemical-protective glove in practice may be much shorter than the determined permeation time.
For special purposes, it is recommended to check the resistance to chemicals of the protective gloves mentioned above together with the supplier of these gloves.

- Other: Suitable protective clothing:
Standard work clothing. Chemical resistant safety shoes or boots. When skin exposure may occur, use protective clothing impermeable to this material.

Respiratory protection:
Respiratory protection necessary if insufficient ventilation or when vapours or aerosols occur.
Self-contained respirator (DIN EN 133) or container device with compressed air (DIN EN 137).
Filtering device (full mask or mouthpiece) with filter A (EN 14387).
