Description of key information

N1,N3-diallylpropane-1,3-diamine dihydrochloride will predominantly be present in the aqueous compartment due to its high water solubility (>497 g/L). The substance has no potential to bioaccumulate (log Kow = -4.78) but it is not readily biodegradable (Flach, 2020). Further, N1,N3-diallylpropane-1,3-diamine dihydrochloride was shown to be hydrolytically stable at pH 4, pH 7 and pH 9 at 50 °C in a preliminary test (144h) according to the test guideline OECD 111 and therefore has an estimated half-life of over one year at 25 °C and environmentally relevant pH. The substance has low potential for adsorption based on log Kow ≤ 3.

Additional testing of biodegradation in water and sediment or soil (simulation tests) is not indicated due to exposure considerations. For further details please refer to the report “Exposure based adaptation information - N1,N3 -diallylpropane-1,3-diamine dihydrochloride” attached in IUCLID Chapter 13.
