Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishig media: Use an extinguishing agent suitable for the surrounding fire.

Specific hazards during firefighting :  Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses.

Hazardous combustion products : No data is available on the product itself.

5.3 Advice for firefighters

Special protective equipment for firefighters : Wear self-contained breathing apparatus for firefighting if necessary.

Specific extinguishing methods : No data is available on the product itself.

Further information : Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be discharged into drains.

Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

Accidental release measures

6.1 Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Personal precautions:Use personal protective equipment.

6.2 Environmental precautions

Environmental precautions : Prevent product from entering drains.

Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so.

If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities.

6.3 Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

Methods for cleaning up : Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust).

Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.

Handling and storage

7.1 Precautions for safe handling :

Advice on safe handling : Do not breathe vapours/dust.

Avoid exposure - obtain special instructions before use.

Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

For personal protection see section 8.

Smoking, eating and drinking should be prohibited in the application area.

Dispose of rinse water in accordance with local and national regulations.

Persons susceptible to skin sensitisation problems or asthma, allergies, chronic or recurrent respiratory disease should not be employed in any process in which this mixture is being used.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Normal measures for preventive fire protection

Hygiene mesure : When using do not eat or drink. When using do not smoke. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of workday.

7.2 Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Requirements for storage areas and containers : Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Containers which are opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage. Electrical installations / working materials must comply with the technological safety standards.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Recommended monitoring procedures: If this product contains ingredients with exposure limits, personal, workplace

atmosphere or biological monitoring may be required to determine the effectiveness

of the ventilation or other control measures and/or the necessity to use respiratory

protective equipment. Reference should be made to European Standard EN 689 for

methods for the assessment of exposure by inhalation to chemical agents and

national guidance documents for methods for the determination of hazardous

substances.

Occupational exposure controls: If user operations generate dust, fumes, gas, vapour or mist, use process enclosures,

local exhaust ventilation or other engineering controls to keep worker exposure to

airborne contaminants below any recommended or statutory limits.

Environmental exposure controls: Emissions from ventilation or work process equipment should be checked to ensure

they comply with the requirements of environmental protection legislation. In some

cases, fume scrubbers, filters or engineering modifications to the process equipment

will be necessary to reduce emissions to acceptable levels.

Respiratory protection: In case of inadequate ventilation wear respiratory protection. Respirator selection

must be based on known or anticipated exposure levels, the hazards of the product

and the safe working limits of the selected respirator.

Hand protection: Chemical-resistant, impervious gloves complying with an approved standard should

be worn at all times when handling chemical products if a risk assessment indicates

this is necessary.

Eye protection: Safety eyewear complying with an approved standard should be used when a risk

assessment indicates this is necessary to avoid exposure to liquid splashes, mists,

gases or dusts.

Skin protection: Personal protective equipment for the body should be selected based on the task

being performed and the risks involved and should be approved by a specialist before

handling this product.

Wash hands, forearms and face thoroughly after handling chemical products, before

eating, smoking and using the lavatory and at the end of the working period.

Appropriate techniques should be used to remove potentially contaminated clothing.

Wash contaminated clothing before reusing. Ensure that eyewash stations and safety

showers are close to the workstation location.

Stability and reactivity

The product is stable.

Under normal conditions of storage and use, hazardous reactions will not occur.

Reactive or incompatible with the following materials: oxidizing materials, acids and alkalis. strong acids, strong bases, strong oxidising agents

Under normal conditions of storage and use, hazardous decomposition products decomposition products should not be produced.

Decomposition products may include the following materials: Carbon oxides, Burning produces obnoxious and toxic fumes.

Disposal considerations

The generation of waste should be avoided or minimised wherever possible.

Significant quantities of waste product residues should not be disposed of via the foul

sewer but processed in a suitable effluent treatment plant. Dispose of surplus and

non-recyclable products via a licensed waste disposal contractor. Disposal of this

product, solutions and any by-products should at all times comply with the

requirements of environmental protection and waste disposal legislation and any

regional local authority requirements.
