Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
melting point/freezing point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Reliable information from standard operating procedure; measurement according to company guideline
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Determination of melting point; measurement according to company guideline.
Type of method:
thermal analysis
Key result
Melting / freezing pt.:
174 °C
Decomposition:
no
Decomp. temp.:
> 450 °C
Remarks on result:
other: Sharp endothermic peak at melting point

A minor exorthermic process was observed in the 254 - 300°C region. This may lead to a pressure increase in closed systems, if it is due to a partial decomposition of the reaction mass.

The decomposition test shows a small endothermic peak at 357 - 410°C. This most likely corresponds to a non-exothermic composition.

Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
174 °C

Additional information

no decomposition up to 450°C
