Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The study was performed to estimate the adsorption coefficient (KOC) of BPAF/BPAF:BTPP-Salt in soil and sludge using a high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) based methodology at the EAG Laboratories analytical chemistry facility in Easton, Maryland. This study was performed based on procedures in the OECD Guideline for the Testing of Chemicals, Guideline 121: Estimation of the adsorption Coefficient (KOC) on Soil and on Sewage Sludge using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC).

Under the chromatographic conditions specified, the test substance eluted as two peaks. The corresponding adsorption coefficient (Log KOC) for the test substance by UV ranged from 3.86 to > 5.63. 3.86 was chosen as it leads to the highest (i.e. most conservative) risk-characterisation ratios (RCRs) for the soil and sediment compartments. For more detailed information, see Section 9.0.2.1.
