Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Density: The weight of evidence from company data is for specific gravity values in the range 1.2 - 1.3 g/cm3 at ambient conditions for various commercial solutions.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No relative density of solid values are available, but this does not constitute a data gap since no solid HMDTMP products are known. A number of specific gravity values of individual commercial products are known for the aqueous solution of sodium salt of HMDTMP. While the individual sources are secondary literature, meaning that in most cases the reliabilities are not assignable, overall the weight of evidence is taken to be adequately reliable for the purpose of registration.

The following company data of non-assignable reliability are available:

1) A relative density of 1.33 at 20°C was reported for a commercial sample of the substance, no further information is available and the reliability could not be assigned.

2) A specific gravity of 1240 - 1300 kg/m3 at 20°C was reported for two different commercial samples of the substance. The original reference was not available for review and no further information is available.

3) A density of 1.25 – 1.28 g/cm3 at 20°C was reported for three commercial samples in company product data sheets. The original reference was not available for review and no further information is available.
