Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder, alcohol or polymer foam extinguishers may be used.

Product arising from burning: The substance is combustible and will burn if involved in a fire, evolving noxious fumes (e.g. carbon, nitrogen and sulphur oxides and molybdenum containing compounds).

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity.

Clean-up personnel should wear personal protective equipment conforming to the relevant national or international standards to prevent inhalation of vapour as well as contact with skin and eyes.

Absorb spillages with a suitable inert material (e.g. sand or soil). Carefully transfer the spillage to waste containers, or use a sealed industrial vacuum machine. Containers filled with waste material must be labelled in the same way as the original containers.

Clean the spillage area with water and detergent.

Dispose of waste material by incineration in accordance with local regulations or use disposal by a licensed contractor.

Do not discharge to drain.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance should be stored, handled and used in conditions of good industrial hygiene and in conformity with any local regulations in order to avoid exposure by ingestion or skin contact.

When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn. Such protective equipment should conform to the appropriate international or national standards.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, away from bright light. Keep away from sparks, open flames.
