First-aid measures

General information:
First aider: Pay attention to self-protection!
When in doubt or if symptoms are observed, get medical advice.
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person or a person with cramps.
Immediately remove any contaminated clothing, shoes or stockings.
If unconscious place in recovery position and seek medical advice.

After inhalation:
Remove casualty to fresh air and keep warm and at rest.
If breathing is irregular or stopped, administer artificial respiration.

After contact with skin:
After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap.
Do not wash with: Solvents/Thinner
Consult a physician.

After contact with eyes:
In case of contact with eyes flush immediately with plenty of flowing water for 10 to 15 minutes holding eyelids apart and consult an ophthalmologist. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.

After ingestion:
Seek medical advice immediately. Rinse mouth. Put victim at rest, cover with a blanket and keep warm. Do not induce vomiting.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:
Water spray jet, alcohol resistant foam, extinguishing powder, carbon dioxide

Special hazards arising from the substance:
In case of fire or heat toxic/harmful gases, vapours and pyrolysis products may be formed.
Hazardous decomposition products: carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide.

Advice for firefighters
Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical protective clothing. Heating causes rise in pressure with risk of bursting of the containers. Use water spray jet to protect personnel and to cool endangered containers. Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. Do not allow entering drains or surface water.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Eliminate all ignition sources if safe to do so. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes. Avoid dust formation. Do not breathe dust. Wear personal protection equipment. Immediately remove any contaminated clothing, shoes or stockings. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. Provide adequate ventilation. Keep away from unprotected persons.

Environmental precautions:
Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains. If necessary, inform the competent authorities.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
Use only non-sparking tools. Avoid dust formation. Take up mechanically, placing in appropriate containers for disposal. Dispose of waste according to applicable legislation. Clean area thoroughly afterwards.

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling:
The substance/product is registered with strictly controlled conditions as defined in Article 18(4) of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 (REACH Regulation) and must therefore be handled as such. Must be handled in closed apparatus or systems only. Provide good ventilation in storage and work areas. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes. Avoid dust formation. Do not breathe dust. Wear personal protection equipment. Immediately remove any contaminated clothing, shoes or stockings. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. Keep away from unprotected persons. When using do not eat, drink or smoke.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion:
Usual measures for fire prevention. Use only non-sparking tools. Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Ground/bond container and receiving equipment.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place. Protect from sunlight. Keep away from sources of ignition. Protect from light. Store in a dark place. Protect from humidity. Store in a place accessible by authorized persons only. Always close containers tightly after the removal of product.

Exposure controls / personal protection

The substance/product is registered with strictly controlled conditions as defined in Article 18(4) of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 (REACH Regulation) and must therefore be handled as such. Provide adequate ventilation. If technical exhaust or ventilation measures are not possible or insufficient, respiratory protection must be worn.

Protective and hygiene measures:
Remove all sources of ignition. Avoid contact with the substance. Immediately remove any contaminated clothing, shoes or stockings. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. Provide eye and emergency safety showers. Wash hands before breaks and after work. When using do not eat, drink or smoke.

Eye/face protection:
Wear eye/face protection accroding to EN 166

Hand protection:
Wear suitable gloves according to EN 374.
Suitable material: Nitrile rubber
The quality of the protective gloves resistant to chemicals must be chosen as a function of the specific working place concentration and quantity of hazardous substances. For special purposes, it is recommended to check the resistance to chemicals of the protective gloves mentioned above together with the supplier of these gloves.

Skin protection:
Wear suitable protective clothing. Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the work.

Respiratory protection
In case of heavy dust formation or insufficient ventilation respiratory protection is required.
Use suitable breathing apparatus with P3 filter device according to e.g. EN 143.

Stability and reactivity

Chemical stability:
The substance is chemically stable under recommended conditions of storage, use and temperature.

Incompatible materials:
none known

Disposal considerations

Advice on disposal:
Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains. Dispose according to legislation.
The allocation of waste identity numbers/waste descriptions must be carried out according to the EEC, specific to the industry and process.

Contaminated packaging:
Handle contaminated packages in the same way as the substance itself. Completely emptied packages can be recycled. Dispose according to legislation.
