First-aid measures

1) INHALATION:

Remove to fresh air. If breathing is irregular or stopped, administer artificial respiration.

2) SKIN CONTACT:

After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of soap and water. Consult a physician.

3) EYE CONTACT:

In the case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Call a physician immediately.

4) INGESTION:

Call a physician immediately. Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water. Do not induce vomiting without medical advice. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

Fire-fighting measures

1) SUITABLE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA:

Dry powder, Water spray, Foam

2) SPECIFIC HAZARDS DURING FIRE FIGHTING:

Heating or fire can release toxic gas.

3) SPECIAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT FOR FIRE FIGHTERS:

In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

4) ADDITIONAL ADVICE:

Use water spray to cool unopened containers.

Accidental release measures

1) GENERAL REMARK:

This substance should be handled under strictly controlled conditions as specified in Reach regulation article 18(4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements in accordance with risk-based management system should be available at each manufacturing site. During the whole lifecycle all necessary measures should be undertaken to minimize emissions and any resulting exposure.

2) PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS:

Use respirator when performing operations involving potential accidental exposure to vapour of the product.

3) ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS:

Prevent product from entering drains in case of spillage.

4) METHODS FOR CLEANING UP:

Sweep up or vacuum up spillage and collect in suitable container for disposal and wear full protective clothing incl. goggles and gloves. Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system.

Exposure controls / personal protection

GENERAL REMARK:

This substance should be handled under strictly controlled conditions as specified in Reach regulation article 18(4). 1) PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

1.1) HYGIENE MEASURES:

Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product.

1.2) RESPIRATORY PROTECTION:

In the case of vapour formation use a respirator with an approved filter. Respirator with a vapour filter (EN 141).

1.3) HAND PROTECTION:

Suitable material : Nitrile rubber - Break through time : > 480 min

Take note of the information given by the producer concerning permeability and break through times, and of special workplace conditions (mechanical strain, duration of contact).

1.4) EYE PROTECTION:

Tightly fitting safety goggles

1.5) SKIN AND BODY PROTECTION:

Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the work place. No special protective equipment required.

2) ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION MEASURES:

Use in tightly closed reaction vessel only. Waste or remainig substance has to be incinerated in an authorized incineration facility equipped with flue-gas scrubbing. Contaminated process waters have to be pre-treated in an industrial waste water treatment plant before discharging.
