Administrative data

First-aid measures

General advice : Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately.

If someone exposed to the product feels unwell, contact a doctor and show this safety data sheet.

Adhere to personal protective measures when giving first aid.

If inhaled : Remove the casualty into fresh air and keep him calm.

By sufficient intake of Phenols through inhalation, provide medical treatment.

In case of skin contact : After contact with molten product cool quickly with cold water.

Do not pull solidified product from skin.

Remove contaminated clothes, under clothes and shoes immediately.

In case of contact with skin wash off immediately with polyethylene glycol 400, then with plenty of water.

Keep wounds covered free of germs.

Keep body calm, protect against loss of heat.

Call in a physician immediately and show him the Safety Data Sheet.

In case of eye contact : Rinse immediately with gently running water for 15 minutes, maintaining eyelids open. Consult at once an ophthalmologist or a physician.

If swallowed : Call in a physician immediately and show him the Safety Data Sheet.

Induce vomiting in case medical help is not readily available and when the patient is concious (Vomit should not go into therespiratoy air tract).

Slurry 30 - 50 g medical charcoal in water and administer it to the patient.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: dry powder, foam, water spray jet, carbon dioxide

Unsuitable extinguishing media: Full water jet

In case of fires, hazardous combustion gases are formed: Hydrogen chloride (HCl), Nitrous gases (NOx), Carbon monoxide (CO)

Special protective equipment for firefighters:

Wear flame-proof clothes, flame-proof gloves, and, if necessary, flame-proof hood as well as helmet and fire-brigade boots when fighting fire.

Use self-contained breathing apparatus.

Further information:

Fire residues and contaminated firefighting water must be disposed of in accordance with the local regulations.

Remove product from areas of fire, or otherwise cool containers with water in order to avoid pressure being build up due to heat.

Collect contaminated firefighting water separately, must not be discharged into the drains.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions  Use personal protective clothing. Remove persons to safety. Use respiratory protection if exposed to vapours/ dust/aerosols.

Environmental precautions: Do not allow entry to drains,water courses or soil.

Methods for cleaning up: Allow to set, pick up mechanically. Containers in which spilt substance has been collected must be adequately labelled.

Dispose of absorbed material in accordance with the regulations. Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly, observing environmental regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling: During its whole lifecycle the substance is handled in closed system under strictly controlled conditions in accordance to Art. 18(4, a-f) of the REACH legislation. This fact is confirmed by the producer and the user of the product.

Storage: Keep only in the original container. Keep container tightly closed in a well-ventilated place.

Exposure controls / personal protection

During the whole lifecycle all neccessary measures in accordance to Art. 17/18(4) of REACH legislation are undertaken to minimise emissions and any resulting exposure.  

Stability and reactivity

When handled and stored appropriately no dangerous reactions are known.

Disposal considerations

Product: Special waste incineration plant, after consultation with operators.

Contaminated packaging: Packaging that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of as product waste.
