Description of key information

Daphnia Magna was exposed under static conditions for 48 h to one concentration (1 mg/l) of Mecoprop-P n-octyl ester. No toxic effect was observed at the limit of water solubility under exposure conditions.
For Mecoprop-P acid (MCPP-P acid), the hydrolysis product of Mecoprop-P n-octyl ester, a 48h-EC50 > 91mg/L and a 48h-NOEC of 91 mg/L were determined on Daphnia magna.

Additional information

Mecoprop-P n-octyl ester hydrolyses rapidly in natural water. Therefore, the hydrolysis product Mecoprop-P acid (MCPP-P acid) was used for further assessment of Mecoprop-P n-octyl ester with respect to toxicity to Daphnia magma.

In a static toxicity test, according to OECD Guideline 202, for Mecoprop-P acid (MCPP-P acid) a 48h-EC50 of >91 mg/L was obseved.
