Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

30°C
Details on study design: HPLC method:
Test material (0.1002 g) was diluted to 100 ml with methanol.
The dead time was determined by measuring the retention time of formamide (purity 99.5%, 141 mg/l solution in methanol).
Solutions of reference standards were prepared in methanol.

HPLC System : Agilent Technologies 1100, incorporating autosampler and workstation
Column : Phenosphere Next 5μ CN (250 x 4.6 mm id)
Column temperature : 30ºC
Mobile phase : methanol:water (55:45 v/v)
pH of mobile phase : 7.1, obtained using sodium hydroxide and
phosphoric acid
Flow-rate : 1.0 ml/min
UV detector wavelength : 210 nm
Injection volume : 10 μl
Type:
Koc
Value:
23.5
Type:
log Koc
Value:
1.37
Details on results (HPLC method):
The method guideline states that the measurement of adsorption coefficient should be carried out on substances in their ionised and unionised forms. However, the test material contained no dissociating functional groups which would allow generation of an ionised form within the environmentally relevant pH range valid to the method. Therefore only a single determination was performed, at an approximately neutral pH, on an unionised form of the test material.

Mean retention times (in minutes):

Sample 1: 3.672
Sample 2: 3.670
Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
Based on an adsorption study performed according to the EC guideline and GLP principles, the adsorption coefficient (Koc) of the test material has been determined to be 23.5(log Koc 1.37).
