Description of key information

Flammabiliy in contact with water:
The structural formulas of the components of the test item contain none of the functional groups quoted in Manual of Tests and Criteria (fourth revised edition, appendix 6, article 5.3) which may react with water to emit flammable gases. Therefore, it can be concluded by expert judgement that the substance does not emit flammable gases in contact with water. The determination according to EC Guideline A.12 is not necessary. (Currenta, 2009c)
Flammability (solids):
The flammability of a substance should be determined following the method N.1 (UN-manual of testing) or A.10 (EU-method). But in accordance with section 2 of REACH Annex XI, a study is technically not possible as the substance is a liquid. The flammability of a liquid is described by the flash point.
Pyrophoric properties:
Pyrophoric properties are determined following the methods N.3 (UN-Manual of testing) or A.13 (EU-method). But in accordance with section 1 of REACh Annex XI, a study does not need to be conducted as it is scientifically not necessary. During handling and use, no pyrophoric properties were observed and the structure does not give a reference to pyrophoric properties.
