Description of key information

In the oxygen consumption inhibition test, an EC0 of 10000 mg/L was found (GLP, DIN 38412, Teil 27)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for microorganisms:
10 000 mg/L

Additional information

The toxicity of the test item to aquatic microorganisms was tested in the oxygen consumption inhibition test according to DIN 38412, Teil 27. A bacterial suspension of Pseudomonas putida was exposed to a nominal concentration of 10000 mg/L of the test item. The test item was directly weighed into the test vessel. The oxygen consumption inhibition was measured in relation to three blank samples. The maximum inhibition value of the test sample was less than 10 % in relation to the blank samples. No EC10 could be determined. Therefore, the EC0 of the test material was concluded to be 10000 mg/L (Henkel, 1997).
