Description of key information

In 2009 a Klimisch 1 rated GLP guideline study on distribution of methyl undecylenate was conducted, testing the adsorption by activated sludge in aqueous environment. The results obtained by HPLC measurement reveal a log Koc in the range 2.6 to 3.5

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Koc at 20 °C:
2 431

Additional information

In this study, methyl undecylenate contains four components. The results obtained by HPLC measurement reveal a log Koc in the range of 2.6 to 3.5

Computation of the log Koc of methyl undecylenate out of the 4 components identified is this study:

 Component Min. log Koc Koc % Koc x (%/100)
 1 4.7  2.6 398.1  3.7 14.73
 2  5.5  3.0 1000   6.2 62
 3 6.4   3.3  1995.3 42.4   854.99
 4  7.0  3.5  3162.3  47.7 1580.41
 Sum         2431.13

Koc = 2431.13

Log Koc = 3.385

Taking into account the individual Koc data of the four components, in a weighted approach, taking into account the different percentages of the four components, for methyl undecylenate results a Koc of 2431.13, i.e. log Koc= 3.385.

[LogKoc: 3.385]
