Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The submission substance is poorly water-soluble and traditional methods of preparation of test solutions are inappropriate. The substance meets the criterion of a "difficult substance". One reliable toxicity study to aquatic algae is available. The toxicity to freshwater alage was studied by following to OECD TG No. 201 and OECD Guidance document No. 23 on aquatic toxicity testing of difficult substances and mixtures, under GLP. Algae cultures (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata) were exposed to concentrations of 0, 0.10, 0.32, 1.0, 3.2 and 10 % v/v saturated solution of substance over a test period of 72 hours (static test). The substance present in test medium was monitored at 0 and 72 hours of the 0.10, 0.32, 1.0, 3.2 and 10% v/v saturated solution. The measured concentrations were < LOQ, 0.065, 0.22, 0.76 and 2.2 mg/L (0 hours) and 0.058, 0.090, 0.22, 0.68 and 2.2 mg/L (72 hours). Therefore, the endpoints were based on mean measured test concentrations. The 72h-EC50 was determined to 0.24 mg/L and the NOEC to 0.078 mg/L.
