First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures

Inhalation

Move the casualty into the fresh air.

Consult a doctor if the person has difficulty in breathing.

Skin

In the case of contact with the skin, wash immediately with abundant soap and water.

Eye

For eye contact, flush eyes with running water for at least 15 minutes. Hold eyelids apart to ensure rinsing of the entire surface of the surface of the eyes and lids with water.

Get medical attention.

Ingestion

Do not induce vomit.

If vomiting takes place naturally, bend the person forward to prevent suffocation hazard.

Consult a doctor.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

Appropriate fire-fighting equipment

Foam, carbon dioxide (CO2), powder, water spray.

Inappropriate fire-fighting equipment

Do not use water jets as they can disperse and spread fire.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

If involved in a fire, remember it can produce toxic gases.

Advice for firefighters

Special protective equipment in case of fire

Use personal protective equipment.

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Additional advice

Use atomized water to cool closed containers in a fire.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Move any people not authorized to contain the emergency out of the area.

Avoid coming in contact with the substance or handling containers without adequate protection.

Use the personal protective equipment described in section ' Exposure controls/personal protection'.

Eliminate all sources of ignition.

Remove all incompatible materials as outlined in section ' Stability and reactivity'.

Environmental precautions

Contain the spillage as far as possible.

Prevent spilled materials getting into the drainage system, wells, surface water or groundwater.

In the case of leaks into a water course, drains, or if the product has contaminated the ground or vegetation, contact the local authorities.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

Do not use equipment that can generate sources of ignition when cleaning.

If possible, vacuum up the spilled material and/or absorb parts that can't be vacuumed up with inert materials (sand, earth, absorbent materials...) and place in suitable containers (separate liquids and solids) for disposal in accordance with section ' Disposal considerations'. After collection, ventilate and clean the affected area with water before granting access.

Do not flush the water used for cleaning into watercourses or down drains.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

Recommendations for safe use

Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms.

Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Take precautionary measures against static discharges.

Avoid breathing vapors.

Advice on general occupational hygiene

Do no eat, drink or smoke when using this product.

Wash face, hands and mouth thoroughly after handling.

Contaminated work clothing should not be allowed out of the workplace.

Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Requisites of the warehouse and the containers

Keep in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place.

Additional information

Keep the recipient tightly closed.

Storage stability

Stable in normal conditions.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Appropriate engineering controls:

Ensure the premises where the substance is stored/handled are adequately ventilated, cool and dry.

Eye / face protection:

Safety goggles or visor (EN 166)

Skin protection / of the Hand:

Suitable chemical resistant safety gloves (EN 374) e.g. nitrile rubber (0.4 mm), chloroprene rubber (0.5 mm), PVC (0.7 mm) and other. Consult the glove manufacturer for specific information on the suitability of the gloves. Replace the gloves in the case of internal contamination, when punctured, or if external contamination cannot be removed. The practical usage time depends on many conditions, see manufacturer's directions.

Skin protection / of the body:

Use suitable protective clothing for chemical substances.

Respiratory protection:

When vapors concentrations exceed permissible exposure limits, wear respiratory protection.

Gas filter EN 141 type A for gases and vapors of organic compounds (boiling point >65°C)

Thermal hazards:

None under normal storage conditions. When moving the product, it may be heated to temperatures below 100 °C

Environmental exposure controls:

See sections 'Accidental release measures' and 'Disposal considerations'.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity

Stable in normal conditions

Chemical stability

Stable in normal conditions

Possibility of hazardous reactions

Not relevant

Conditions to avoid

See section 'Accidental release measures'

Incompatible materials

Incompatible with oxidising agents.

Hazardous decomposition products

See section 'Fire-fighting measures'

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods

Recycle if possible, or send to an authorized incinerator. Follow the instructions in sections 'Accidental release measures' and 'Handling and storage' when handling waste spillages, taking the steps indicated in the same sections. We recommend recycling containers instead of disposal. Observe the local and national legislation in force.
