The dynamic viscosity of the test substance Petaerythritoltetra(3 -mercaptopropionat) was measured at two temperatures: 23 °C and 80 °C in two repetitions each. Dynamic viscosities for two repetitions for given temperature are in a good agreement.

At the temperature 23 °C the dynamic viscosity exhibit plateau for shear rate D bigger than 80 1/s and at temperature 80 °C - for shear rate between 200 to 400 1/s and these viscosities were used in the calculation of the kinematic viscosities. kinematic viscosity = dynamic viscosity / density. The relative density of pentaerythritoltetra(3 -mercaptopropionat) is 1.28327 ( from study report 4 .4. Density: key, Bruno Bock, 2009). Taking into account that the density of water at the temperature 4 °C is 0.999975 kg/m3, the density of pentaerythritoltetra(3 -mercaptopropionat) at tempearture 20°C is 1.28324 [g/cm3] and the latter value is used in the calculation of the kinematic viscosity at both temperatures (23°C and 80°C).

Additional information

The dynamic viscosity of test substance pentaerythritoltetra(3 -mercaptopropionat) was estimated in the laboratory experiment with the use of rotational viscometer according to procedure similar to the OECD Test Guideline 114 (Viscosity of Liquids). Measurements were performed at 2 temperatures: 23°C and 80°C in two repetitions, and the following values were obtained:

1) ca. 500 mPa s (dynamic), 389,639 mm2/s (kinematic) at shear rate D in a range 80-300 1/s and temperature T=23°C.

2) ca. 30 mPa s (dynamic), 23.378 mm²/s (kinematic) at shear rate D in a range 200-400 1/s and temperature T=80°C.
