Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The study does not need to be conducted because direct or indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely; In accordance with Column 2 of REACH, Annexes IX the tests do not need to be conducted if direct and indirect exposure of the substance to soil is unlikely. The substance is used solely in industrial processes for powder coating, technically required being water-free and applied under closed conditions. Thus, there is no exposure to the environment during use and no additional studies are required. An LC50 of greater than 1000 mg/kg soil was derived from the analogue N,N,N',N'-tetrakis(2-hydroxyethyl) hexanediamide to the substance N,N,N',N'-tetrakis(2-hydroxypropyl) hexanediamide as the supporting study, showing that no concern is to be expected.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Short-term EC50 or LC50 for soil macroorganisms:
1 000 mg/kg soil dw
Long-term EC10, LC10 or NOEC for soil macroorganisms:
1 000 mg/kg soil dw

Additional information

From the read-across approach, the LC50 to earthworms, determined with the hydroxyethyl derivative, was greater than 1000 ppm active ingredients, and this study was used as a supporting study.
